I made my yearly pilgrimage to the CAS yesterday. As usual there was an eclectic mix of car guys, youths, and jerks.

As you can see, many of the peoples, as well as the ones who don’t care that you’re trying to take pictures.

GT-ARRRR

Rally car! Glad to see Subaru represent. Sadly it didn’t have 80 million lights like the rally cars of old.

Moar rally because rally.

Here’s to hoping this goes into production.

The front is a little busy, but that’ll be toned down by production. Still not bad though.

Apparently this Optima’s teeth weren’t straight, so now it wears braces.

If you had told me this was wearing 19's, I wouldn’t have believed you. It looks more like 16's.

The entire car screams old person, especially the cream colored interior.

I quite like the Niro ‘concept’.

See? ‘Concept’.

The back looks very nice. Also this is slightly smaller than the Sportage, so it’s not like a Sportage Hybrid or anything.

The bizarre Telluride. It looks huge, but it’s about the same size as a Sorento.

Very macho. Also very Land-Rover, but that’s not a bad thing.

No comment.

Because racecar.

This has a 2.0 liter 4-banger that makes almost 550 HP. Impressive.

WANT. But...

It looses it’s roof because that weights too much, but keep the A/C. Logic.

Super sleeper is sleepy.

Here we see a youth in his natural habitat, staring at GT-R.

I couldn’t get a good picture of this because of all the jerks...er...youth pushing and shoving to get a glimpse.

Yet they ignored the true king.

I really like the matte purple wrap on this.

Is this an actual GT3 RS? Or is it made to look like one?

Color aside, I like it. Also some kids (like 12) were literally scratching the carbon on the wing. No parents in sight...

I like the exterior color combo and wheel choice, but I don’t care for black interiors on luxury cars.

Meh. It was here last year. Would’ve preferred a LaFerrari or P1.

For some reason, I’m not keen on the wheel/color combo. Not sure why...it just seems a bit boring.

Rarer than a Bugatti, at least here in the states.

It’s a better looking Miata! Nothing wrong with that.

Also the blue is the most fantastic color.

The Pacifica looks pretty decent.

I thought the wing would smaller in person, but it looks EVEN BIGGER.

Yea, not a GT3 RS. It has a larger fender exhaust, and the things in the front

We were there last night, sitting in the 370Z, reminiscing about back when I had my 350 and all of a sudden these two asshat youths slam the trunk down as hard as they can. Scared the bejeebus out of us. Also might’ve broken the damn thing because it wouldn’t close after they did that (maybe wouldn’t close before and that’s why they though that slamming it hard as possible was going to help).

Otherwise, it was a great showing. Lots of fun stuff.

Sounds like the typical youth. One year I saw a Mitsu Lancer which had a missing center console. Like the entire thing was just gone. Asked a representative, apparently it had been stolen (???).

Are you sure? They could’ve just put an entirely new bumper on (which is likely) with different intakes. Meanwhile, the wing and front fender vents are totally unique to the RS and would require much more effort than simply swapping a bumper.

EDIT: I've looked at it a little closer and have done nothing but confuse myself even more. Some parts seem GT3 RS while others make it seem like a modded Turbo.

So my roommate and I were sitting in the Mazda Spyder watching the CX-9 presentation. The brown leather is as nice as you expect. However, the “soft top” is fiberglass with a fabric cover. Also, we were told we weren’t actually supposed to be sitting in it, but the “Do Not Touch” signs were stolen during Social Media day.

Some of the cars we were allowed to sit in during the press days though.

Also, the door handle on the Genesis concept was something about maintaining contact with the car if you were helping a date into the car or something. It’s not a bad idea - puts the moving parts on the car instead of the door, so there’s less stuff to rattle around when you close it. The C7 has the latch on the body and the striker on the door now, so it’s doable.

The intake just in front of the hood on the GT3 RS I took a picture of was made of wire mesh and didn’t have those pillar-resembling objects. I am almost positive it is not a GT3 RS.

Yes, but the GT3 and RS are the only 911s that have the grille at all. The Turbo doesn’t have one. Like I said, it’s likely an entirely new aftermarket bumper.

Just Googled it, turns it out it's actually a heavily modified (read: ruined) Turbo. The wing and fender vents looked very convincing though.
